This morning, The Hollywood's Reporter hosted a breakfast, "Power 100: Women in Entertainment," where the most powerful women in Hollywood get recognized for the their hard work.
What I love about this event was that, the issue of more women being needed to take on leadership positions ON-SCREEN as well as OFF-SCREEN, was addressed.
Sandra Fluke "encouraged the entertainers and executives in attendance to show girls in leadership positions on screen and hire women for such positions off screen."
Joel McHale, a comedian, also stated, "If women ran Hollywood, 'Magic Mike' would already be a theme-park ride."
I get hopeful when I read about current powerful women doing something in order for my generation and the ones after me to become women of distinction and take on leadership positions in any industry.
Yes, we can.
