Have any of you seen this amazing video? (It's pretty old but I'm just now seeing it.) We all know that Photoshop has the power to change and distort images, but seeing the process was astonishing. The model looked nothing like the finished "product," which if you ask me, is cause for concern. I like that Dove, a beauty company, stood up against society's unattainable idea of beauty.
Someone could argue, however, that editing out models' flaws for a magazine cover or advertisement is perfectly harmless, as long as the editors don't take it too far (like in the video). But my question is, how do you know where to draw the line?
What do you think as a consumer of these images? Are you against Photoshop? If so, would you rather Photoshop editing not be used at all or only a little? What would the consequences of this be?
