Lately we've been seeing a lot about the superstar Rihanna and rapper Chris Brown on social networks alluding to the fact that they might be back together. From instagram pictures to tweets, there is no doubt in the public's mind that they are in fact, in a relationship.
Okay that's fine, but as LZ Granderson states on his CNN contribution article, "Rihanna Making a Bad Decision?" we can't really support the fact that getting back with someone who beat you can be a good thing. Yes, people can change for the better and deserve second chances due to the fact that we're human beings therefore not perfect, but we can only hope for the best in Rihanna and Brown's relationship.
Our society has become immune to many issues that ought to be addressed or seen in a harsher light, like domestic violence for example, but nevertheless, celebrities will undoubtedly triumph in creating a certain issue seem "ok." Domestic violence has been portrayed lightly in song lyrics and music videos, socializing the public's mind to believe that "true love is worth it."
Well pardon me, but "true love" is NOT worth my life.
Like the saying goes, "If he hit you once, he WILL do it again."
To each his own.
