Textbooks in Saudi Arabia now include women
An article in Jezebel today mentioned that pictures of women are now included in textbooks. Since 1926 pictures of women have been banned since 1926. I had no idea that this was the case. Obviously, it is well known that Saudi Arabia has a very strict government and women do not have the same rights as men but I think not having women in textbooks until now is utterly ridiculous. There have been many women throughout history who have made a difference, it is not right not to include them because of their gender. However, even though this may not be a big deal for Americans it is a step in the right direction for Saudi Arabia.
